The first quarter pricing database update has been released and is available for instant download into your PowerClaim XML system. Over 1,600 items have been updated to reflect current price trends.

If you have PowerClaim automatically check for price updates when starting, you should have the latest cost information already loaded. If not, click on the "Tools" menu and then select "Check for Cost Database Updates."

The update includes drywall, roofing, concrete and lumber items. A discrepancy with the Flooring SY category has also been addressed.

PowerClaim XML 17c

The latest release of PowerClaim XML is release 17c. This update includes a few minor changes to the program, along with the entire 2008 pricing databases.

If you haven't updated to XML 17c yet, visit our downloads page for your free upgrade.

 

Tip of the Month: Using Backup Options

Are your claims backed up? Make sure your internal backup settings are properly configured by going to the "Tools" menu and clicking on "Preferences," then selecting "Backup Options" from the list on the left.

To set the frequency you wish PowerClaim XML to back up your files, click the "Run Backup on Shutdown" checkbox. Once you have set the frequency, uncheck the box and PowerClaim will back up on the schedule you set. You can choose where you want PowerClaim XML to save your files.

Under "Purge Settings," you can select how often you wish PowerClaim XML to remove old backups in order to save space on your hard drive.

Employee Spotlight: Will Gregory

Will Gregory has been with Hawkins Research, Inc. since February of 2008 and serves as a Customer Support Representative.

He has been hard at work on the phones, making sure all your questions and support issues are resolved, as well as doing some heavy testing of our two web-based products, PowerClaim Net Services and Replacement Cost Calculator.

"Will is always willing to lend a hand in any situation", said Jennifer Boyken, Customer Support Manager. "He is a dedicated employee with a positive attitude who enjoys helping our customers."

He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle School Education from Murray State University, and is currently heading back to school to pursue a second degree in accounting.

Outside of work, Will enjoys spending time with his nephew, Dylan, and playing his Nintendo Wii.
